🌱 KIPP Antioch Afterschool Plant Project

Growing Strong Roots in Learning and Life

At Rocklife Youth, we believe that growth takes place when young people are given the tools to nurture both themselves and their environment. That’s why we’re excited to launch our Plant Project at the KIPP Antioch Afterschool location, beginning Thursday, September 25th.

🌿 About the Plant Project

The Plant Project is a hands-on learning experience where students will explore the life cycle of plants, discover the importance of healthy environments, and take responsibility for nurturing their own greenery. Through gardening and plant-based activities, students will learn skills that connect science, sustainability, and personal growth.

🌎 What Students Will Do

  • Plant & Grow: Each student will have the opportunity to plant seeds, care for them, and watch them grow.

  • Hands-On Learning: Lessons include soil preparation, watering cycles, and understanding what plants need to thrive.

  • Teamwork & Responsibility: Students will work together to care for their plants, reinforcing accountability and collaboration.

  • Creative Expression: Students can decorate pots, name their plants, and journal their plant’s growth journey.

🌟 Why It Matters

This project is more than just growing plants—it’s about growing character. Students learn patience, discipline, and the rewards of consistent care. By the end of the program, they’ll have a plant to take home and the confidence of knowing they made something grow with their own hands.

As an added reward, students who complete the project will receive a gift card to celebrate their commitment and effort.
